If there is something I’d like to tell to younger people that want to go into science, this is: enjoy it! this is the most important aspect of it.

She is director of research exceptional class at the CNRS and principal investigator of the Chromatin Dynamics team at the Institut Curie in Paris. She was director of the Research Center at the same Institute from 2013 to 2018 and has been its honorary director since then.

She is a world leader in understanding the organisation and function of the genome during development and disease, particularly in cancer. Constantly striving to expand the boundaries of scientific knowledge, she is co-chair of the LifeTime Initiative, a European research platform that uses innovative technologies aimed at tracking, understanding and treating human cells at the time of disease. She is an elected member of the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO), the French Academy of Sciences and the European Research Council since 2019, and is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences.

Geneviève Almouzni ist Forschungsdirektorin außerordentlicher Klasse beim CNRS und leitet das Team für Chromatin dynamik am Institut Curie in Paris. Von 2013 bis 2018 war sie Direktorin des Forschungszentrums desselben Instituts und ist seitdem dessen Ehrendirektorin. Als welt- weit führende Expertin auf dem Gebiet der Organisation und Funktion des Genoms während der Entwicklung und bei Krankheiten, insbesondere im Bereich Krebs, arbeitet sie unermüdlich daran, die Grenzen des wissenschaftlichen Wissens zu erweitern. Sie ist Mitvorsitzende der LifeTime Initiative, einer europäischen Forschungsplattform, die innovative Technologien einsetzt, um menschliche Zellen bei Krankheiten zu verfolgen, zu verstehen und zu behandeln. Geneviève Almouzni ist gewähltes Mitglied der European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO), der französischen Akademie der Wissenschaften und des Europäischen Forschungsrats seit 2019. Sie ist außerdem Fellow der American Association for the Advancement of Sciences.

Direttrice di ricerca exceptional class presso il CNRS (Francia), dirige l’unità di ricerca che si occupa di studiare la Dinamica della Cromatina all'Institut Curie di Parigi. È stata direttrice del centro di ricerca dello stesso Istituto dal 2013 al 2018 e da allora ne è la direttrice onoraria.

È leader mondiale nella comprensione dell'organizzazione e della funzione del genoma durante lo sviluppo e la malattia, in particolare nel cancro. Costantemente impegnata ad ampliare i confini della conoscenza scientifica, è co-presidentessa della LifeTime Initiative, una piattaforma di ricerca europea lanciata nel 2019 che utilizza tecnologie innovative volte a tracciare, comprendere e trattare le cellule umane nel momento della malattia. Ha ricevuto il Women in Science Award di EMBO/FEBS ed è stata nominata membro dell’European Research Council nel 2019.
